Ah Gitten Moed

Man, I miss college. This pic was taken last Chol haMoed, before the UMD/Va. Tech Thursday night football game at UMD, as posted by ADDeRabbi (he's far right).

And if you're curious - yes, it's allowed to drink beer/liquor outside of the sukkah.

while it is mutar probably to drink beer/liquour outside of the succah- look at SA 639:2 and Mb 13 that maybe it shouldn't be done lichatchilah

Regarding 639:2, it simply says that one who is machmir, harey zeh meshubach. It is not poskining lichatchilah - it's stating a chumra that is praiseworthy. No reason to think it isn't muttar lichatchilah.

Regarding MB13, the whole case is someone who is being kovea upon that drink. Drinking one Corona certainly doesn't sound like kevius to me.

One thing I did read though is that R' Shlomo Zalman says that if one is near a Sukkah, it is assur to drink EVEN WATER outside of the sukkah, because of Taishvu K'Ain Taduru. Since whenever we are close to home, we usually don't eat or drink and just wait to get home, so too, we shouldn't drink even water if we are near a sukkah.
